Rod & Cones
Rod and cones are the photoreceptors of the retina. They are the first point of the visual system and process the light coming into the eye. We have three types of cones Blue Cone, Green Cone, and Red Cone, these cones absorb light in different parts of the spectrum (see the band of colours along the bottom of the design). The "arms" of the cones in our design show the absorption spectrum. The Rod is more sensitive to light (this is why it's wearing sun glasses in our design), and they are important for night vision or black and white vision. Inside the retina the rods and cones send information to other neuron which then send information to the brain by retinal ganglion cells.
