Lady GABA

Lady GABA is inspired from icon Lady GAGA.

She is releasing GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric acid), which is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter in the nervous system.

GABA is a neurotransmitter that inhibits cells that express the receptor for GABA. Neurons in the cortex that release GABA are considered interneurons and are "inhibitory", meaning they inhibit other neurons and interneurons. Here lady GABA is carrying a GABA molecule in her hand. She is a specific type of interneuron that expresses VIP (Vasoactive intestinal peptide)
